Spacebar Counter
Count every space bar press. Use it as a plain spacebar counter that keeps its number, or as a space bar clicker — hammer the key and watch the spacebar count climb.

Keyboard: Space + ↑ → add · − ↓ ← subtract · Z undo
This is a spacebar counter: press the space bar and the number goes up by one. Unlike most spacebar clicker pages, it is not a game with a timer you cannot switch off — the count simply stays, so you can count something over an afternoon and still have the number tomorrow.
It also works as a spacebar clicker test if that is what you came for — or a space bar clicker test, or just a spacebar test, depending which page sent you. Hit the key as fast as you can and read the spacebar count, or use undo to take back a press. If you want a proper timed spacebar speed test with a clock and a best score, the CPS test counts the spacebar too.

Frequently asked questions
How does the spacebar counter work?
Press the space bar and the number goes up by one. You can also click the + button or use the up arrow. The count is saved in your browser as you go, so it is still there when you come back.
Is this a spacebar clicker test or a counter?
Both, depending on how you use it. Left alone it is a counter that keeps its number for as long as you want. Hammer the key and it works as a spacebar click test — press, watch the number, reset and go again.
How do I do a timed spacebar speed test?
Use the CPS test for a timed run. It gives you 1, 5, 10 or 60 seconds, a countdown and a best score, and it counts the space bar as well as the mouse — a spacebar cps test in everything but name.
Does pressing space scroll the page?
No. The page stops the space bar from scrolling while you are counting, so a fast spacebar clicking test will not send you halfway down the page.
Can I use an auto spacebar clicker on it?
You can, but there is no point. Nothing here is a leaderboard and no score is published, so an automated spacebar click tester is only ever competing with you. The same goes if you came here to play spacebar clicker against a friend: the number is yours alone.
Does the spacebar count reset?
Only when you reset it. Closing the tab, refreshing or restarting the computer will not clear it, and reset asks for confirmation first.
Can I count two things at once?
Yes. Add a second counter and rename it. The spacebar applies to whichever counter you last touched, so you can switch between them by pressing + on the one you want.
Is it free and does it work offline?
It is free with no account. Once the page has loaded it works with no internet at all, and you can add it to your home screen.
Why is my spacebar not working?
It is usually one of three things: crumbs or dust under the keycap, Sticky Keys or Filter Keys switched on in your accessibility settings, or a keyboard driver that needs updating or reinstalling from Device Manager. Blow out under the key with compressed air, turn those two settings off, then try the keyboard on another computer — if it still fails there, the key itself has gone. Pressing space on this page tells you straight away whether it is registering at all.
How fast can you click the spacebar?
Most people manage around 6 presses per second, and 8 to 10 per second is quick. Records for a ten second run sit near 17 per second, using two fingers alternating rather than one. Start the timed test on this page to see where you land.
How many times can I press the spacebar?
As many times as you like. There is no cap on the count and no limit on how long you keep going — the number simply carries on and is saved as it grows. If you want it to stop somewhere, set a number to stop at in Settings and it will flag when you reach it.
What does spacebar mean?
The spacebar is the long unlabelled key along the bottom of a keyboard, named for its job of inserting a space between words. Being the biggest key on the board, and reachable by either thumb, it is also the one people reach for when counting or testing speed.
